Referees:
As a referent you will be assigned to a session with presentations.
You read the abstracts of the presenters and come up with a question and/or tip for the presenter.
This role is indispensable during the PhD day!
Chairs:
As a chair you lead a session with presentations.
You monitor the time, ensure that the discussion goes well and help the presenter with tips.
This role is also indispensable during the PhD day!
You can register as referee AND chair!
We also invite (co-)supervisors to act as referee and/or chair during the PhD day.
If we have too few applications for the role as referee or chairman, we can still approach you.

During the mock defense, a PhD candidate is given the opportunity to practice for the real defence.
At the end of the mock defense, the defense is discussed with all those present.
In addition to the role of 'defending PhD student', there are various roles to be fulfilled during the mock defense:
- Rector Magnificus: This person will ensure that the entire mock defense runs smoothly.
- Opponent: They ask questions about the doctoral candidate's dissertation.
- Audience: As an audience, it's a great opportunity to see how a promotion is progressing. You also help the PhD candidate by giving tips and feedback about the mock defense.
