As part of the immigration procedure some nationalities have to undergo a tuberculose-examination (TB) within 3 months of your arrival in the Netherlands.
This is a minor and non-invasive examination, which consists of taking an X-ray of your lungs. This is used to establish whether there is inflammation or fluid in the lungs which could indicate the presence of tuberculosis.
The Municipal Health Services (GGD) will come to the University to do the TB-examination.
If you are unable to attend any of the dates, please schedule an appointment with the GGD yourself. This appointment will then take place at the office of the GGD at the Hanzeplein.
When should I have done the TB-examination?
Within 3 months after the residence permit has been granted, you will have to have undergone the TB-examination. If you wait for more than 3 months to undergo the TB-examination, you may risk having your residence permit withdrawn.
What to bring?
- Your passport
- EUR 57,00 for the TB-examination (payment by debitcard or cash).
- The completed part 1 of the form 'TB test referral form' (this form will be issued to you once you have submitted this online form)
Where should I go?

Academy Building
Broerstraat 5

After the test has been administered, the GGD will fill in the rest of the form and send it to the IND.
