The Max Gruber Foundation was established in 1983 by Prof. Dr. M. Gruber and his wife, Suzanne Gruber-Heinemann, with the goal of promoting Biochemistry in Groningen in the broadest sense.
Every two years, the Foundation Board awards one or more prizes of € 1.000 for the best PhD student publication in molecular life sciences. To be eligible, the PhD student must be a first author, and the research must have been primarily conducted in Groningen, with a Groningen-based principal investigator as the corresponding author.
